Choose Innovative Fluid Coupling Variants from Emechmart
Couplings are mechanical devices that facilitate two drive controls that allow motion to be transferred from one part to another. At Emechmart, we can identify most of the use of couplings mainly in vehicles, such as the drive shaft connecting a motor and the rear wheel in a vehicle or any car involving universal joint technologies.
Different types of fluid couplings are used to transfer torque between two shafts that are either normally aligned or somewhat misaligned. Typically, you can choose from different types of fluid coupling listed by authorized fluid coupling manufacturers in India.
A fluid coupling, also known as a hydraulic coupling, is a hydrodynamic system used to enroute rotational force from one shaft to another by means of a transmission fluid. Because of this, fluid coupling provides a real advantage to the engineer in various forms of power transfer.
Benefits of ordering fluid coupling from Emechmart
At Emechmart, we follow Fluid coupling working principle based on Hermann Fottinger. The fluid coupling parts on the input and output side are not mechanically connected and are, therefore free. Torque is transmitted by fluid movement in the coupling, accelerated by radial blades. Our fluid coupling working on Föttinger principle as well as the operation principle of the Fludex coupling.

Components of Fluid coupling
The fluid coupling in automobiles is also referred to as hydraulic coupling. It is a hydrodynamic device used to transfer rotational power from one shaft to another through the use of transmission fluid. It is used in industries for automotive transmission systems, marine propulsion systems, and power transmissions. It is used as an alternative to a mechanical clutch. Emechmart offers dynamic and robust fluid coupling components, to deliver high-quality products.
1. Shaft
It is also known as shell. It has an oil-tight seal around the drive shaft. It also protects the impeller and turbine from external damage.
2. Impeller or Pump:
It is a turbine that is attached to the input shaft and is called the impeller. It is also known as a pump because it works as a centrifugal pump.
3. Turbine:
It is connected to the output shaft to which the rotational power is transmitted.
How fluid coupling works?
Hydrodynamic couplings transmit mechanical power from the electric motor to the gearbox with virtually no wear. In the fluid coupling function, the impeller of the fluid coupling is connected to the prime mover (internal combustion engine) which is the power source. The turbine is joint to the output shaft where the rotation power needs to be transmitted. The impeller and turbine are survived in an oil-tight sealed housing. The housing contains transmission fluid.
Enhance your application efficiency with Emechmart’s Fluid Coupling
The benefits of using fluidrive fluid couplings can include start-up control, smooth acceleration, overload protection, energy saving, speed control, virtually frictionless clutch, starting at zero engine load and thus reducing engine size, torsional insulation for diesel engines and significant between its loads and includes a long-time stability of the drive, with no mechanical contact between the power-transmitting elements. It is used in the vehicle transmission system, marine propulsion system and power transportation industries. It is used as the best option to electric clutch or gear coupling.
