What is the expected lifetime of the parts?
The lifetime of filter parts depends on many factors. Firstly, it depends in part on what we are talking about. Some parts are subject to heavy wear and tear and others are lightly serviced.
For example, filter cloth is supposed to be subjected to extreme pressure and mechanical loads. On average, filter cloth is used for about 6000 cycles. This means that a filter cloth can discharge up to 120 million kg during its lifetime! Their lifetime is quite different from the lifetime of the filtrate tube.
Types of industrial filtration
In industry, water quality is becoming increasingly important, first because of international standards for producing high-purity equipment and products, and second because supply sources are prone to contamination due to population growth and Waste regulation is slow. Compared to the level of development, especially in Latin American countries.
Depth filtration
Depth filters are most common for industrial water filtration as they have a greater capacity to hold dirt without the pressure drops and breakdown of alternative systems. When pressurized liquids pass through a medium, they capture contaminants either by attractive molecular forces or by direct collisions.
Different industrial applications have special requirements for specific numbers and types of filters.
Cartridge or bag filters can be used with many 7-cartridge holders, allowing finer filtration (1 or 5 µm) to be used than deep-bed filters (15 to 25 µm). Cartridge filters or bag filters require more care for more reverse filter changes and pressure differential changes so as not to break.
Deep Bed Industrial Filter
The choice of material used in a deep bed filter depends on the type of pollutants to be removed. Generally, the filter media are layered to filter solids of different sizes and to reduce the pressure on the filter.
The grains are large enough to retain large sediments in the early stages. Then, in the middle stage, the size of the filter media is reduced to retain smaller particles and the final layer is gravel media that supports the filter media and distributes the water so that it flows out through distributors or nozzles can get out clean water or product exits the system through a collector or distributor, which retains the filter media and prevents it from escaping the water flow.
Surface filtration
An important step in industrial filters is surface cleaning, this is done with "backwash" and involves expanding the filter bed and removing sediment deposited during service processes this requires a water flow that is 3 times higher than what it gives us when working, sometimes this step requires additional pumping equipment.
You can also find a lot of products including disc filters that allow large amounts of water to pass through without having to constantly change cartridges, as they use cartridges made by plastic discs, which do not tolerate rapid wear, that can last. Many more years than deep bed filters and all cartridges which have a very short life span.
