Diverse Pipe Fittings available at Emechmart
Pipe fittings are defined as piping components that assist in pipe routing for directional change, shape change, and branch connections. Piping Elbow, Piping Reducer, T Connection, Olet Connection, Cap, Cross etc, are pipe fittings and are widely used in both the piping and plumbing industry. The standard pipe fittings perform standard functions according to layout or process requirements.
At Emechmart, high-quality pipe fittings are available and manufactured by top pipe fittings brands that adhere to international standards. Pipe fittings are attached to piping using various end connections. Pipe fittings play a vital role in the proper functioning of pipes and tubes in various applications.
How do pipe fittings work?
A pipe fitting combines a pipe and plumbing configuration. If you want to plumb your entire home, you'll need pipe fittings in different parts of your home to shut off the water supply or to lean along the water supply so that the water runs into a corner. You can select the most appropriate pipe fittings from our versatile pipe fittings chart.
The elbow bends the water at 90 degrees or 45 degrees. The pipe comes in at one end and ends at the other to make a 90-degree bend in a plumbing configuration. You use elbow fittings to route the water behind the walls. Tees come with a line to feed different parts of your home. Couplers connect the pipes together so that you can run longer pipes.
The pipe fittings types you need depend on the pipe you already use in your plumbing configuration. If you have copper pipes running in your home, you need copper fittings. If you have CPVC pipe, you need PVC fittings. If you have PEX tubing, you may need different PEX fittings or some type of material compatible with PEX. The right pipe fitting for the job also depends on its compatibility with moving fluids through the application.
Methods to connect pipe fittings for your plumbing project
There are several ways to connect domestic pipe fittings. However, which one you use depends on its material.
Push-to-connect
Push-to-connect fittings, also called push-to-fit or click-to-connect, use O rings and metal teeth for a watertight connection. As their name suggests, pipes and fittings need to be pushed together. These fittings are used with PEX, PVC and copper pipe in low-pressure situations, such as sinks.
Flare
Flare fittings are used on plumbing systems with high water pressure and gas lines. After flaring the pipe with a flaring tool a flare nut and conical fittings make the connection.
Pressure
Compression fittings consist of a threaded body, a nut, and a sleeve called a ferrule. They use compression to squeeze the pipe and fitting together to form a tight joint.
Crimp or clamp
To join a fitting by crimping, a special tool called a tube crimper squeeze or crimps a metal ring around the pipe after the fitting is inserted. A clamp is tightened around the pipe after the fitting has been inserted.
Types of Pipe Fitting Materials
Different types of water pipe fittings come in the same materials as their pipe counterparts, whether CPVC, brass or galvanized. In general, use PVC fittings for PVC pipes, copper fittings for copper pipes, and so on. There are some exceptions and things to note:
· PVC and PEX fittings can be made of metal or plastic and are used for PVC and PEX pipes.
· Most of the pipe fittings are designed to convert a pipe of one material into a pipe made of another material.
· Chrome-plated brass is often used when part of the plumbing system is found in living areas, such as under a bathroom sink. Shiny metal pipes have an attractive look that doesn't need to be hidden by a cabinet or vanity.
